Sustainable Business Collaborative
The Sustainable Business Collaborative is an exclusive membership of Maine Businesses for Sustainability, open by invitation-only to business leaders who are committed to growing and expanding Maine’s sustainable economy. The Collaborative members help recruit sustainable businesses from outside the state to relocate to Maine. By sustainable, we mean companies that are actively engaged in the process of decreasing their environmental impact and increasing their positive social impact. This Collaborative is the result of a partnership among Maine Businesses for Sustainability, Maine & Company and Mainebiz.
The Sustainable Business Collaborative targets businesses outside Maine that complement and enhance Maine’s emerging industries. The Collaborative examines a particular growth industry, such as composites for example, and identifies the types of businesses that we need to enhance the composite industry such as suppliers and service providers. Once these businesses are identified, vetted and determined ripe for relocation, Maine & Company will work on relocation efforts. In this fashion, the Collaborative will strengthen Maine’s emerging growth sectors in a sustainable and measurable way.
