Certified Green Events

Our Green Event Certification process helps you green your event with our green event scorecard.  As a third party non-profit with expertise in sustainability, Maine Businesses for Sustainability is uniquely positioned to provide objective and credible certification standards.  Our scorecard measures all aspects of an event - communications and production, venue, transportation, energy use and emissions, and food.  We also offer consulting and event planning services.

Once we certify your event, you can use our certification stamp in all your promotional materials.  After your event takes place, we can write a green event story for you detailing the innovative ways you worked to make your event green and sustainable.  This story can be used for post event press releases, reports to sponsors, future sponsorship solicitations, in board reports and any other way you think will benefit your business.

 

A Certified Green Event can be any type of event - business roundtable; multi-day; international conference; or sporting event.  Since consumers prefer attending events they know are green, and since events generate huge amounts of waste and carbon emissions, a Certified Green Event helps your business increase consumer goodwill, elevates your status with sponsors and potential sponsors and helps ensure sustainable business practices.  In addition, if well planned and innovative, green events will save you money.
